Stay away from UPMC! They have predatory practices. My daughter went to them for a yearly physical in March of 2022. The nurse practitioner, Sharon Knaub, coded the visit as an office visit (which my insurance won't cover) instead of a physical because she mentioned that she suffered from anxiety and acne. When I called to find out why they did this, I was told because she had complaints it was not considered to be a simple physical. Eventually, they did change the coding to a physical as a "courtesy." My husband and I never complain we always try to see the positive in things but this was the second time this happened to him with the same person. We went in for an appointment it was a follow up and the front desk person was very rude telling him to put his mask up over his nose he had a mask on but it’s hard for him to breathe with it on his nose so he always puts it just under but in the meantime the lady sitting beside her had her mask totally off. I have been a patient with this practice for over 20 years now. I liked my previous doctors and like my current doctor, who is Dr. Murudkar. However, for reasons that have nothing to do with my doctors, I now have to give this practice a one-star review. I lost several hundred dollars because of a mistake caused by the manager at their billing office.Let me explain: My insurance covers an annual physical with bloodwork. I have been receiving this physical every year for over 20 years with no problems and no payment needed out-of-pocket—until last year.
