At Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. Patients and families report very positive experiences. The care team, including nurses, aides, and therapists, is kind, attentive, and works hard to help patients regain strength, confidence, and independence. One family noted that the staff’s attentiveness led to identifying a GI bleed that could have gone unnoticed elsewhere. The occupational therapy and physical therapy are balanced to each patient’s needs and wants, helping them reach discharge goals. The doctors and nurses are very attentive to all needs, making patients feel welcome. The food is amazing too. Before discharge, the team coordinates wound care, nursing, therapy, and home services so families feel prepared and supported. One patient’s stay was described as fabulous, with fear settled immediately. Another family appreciated how closely their mother was monitored and how everything was lined up before leaving. Overall, the administration, doctors, nurses, and entire staff are highly recommended.
The staff, the services, the building, all amazing! Kelly Jo was our favorite!! She was accessible, knowledgeable and very caring! My mom told us about Charlotte and Becky who did therapy with her weekly! She improved so much just in her short stay!
We had a very positive experience at Encompass after my mom’s amputation. She stayed for 3 weeks, and overall we were very pleased with the care she received. Linda, our caseworker, was wonderful and helped make the process much easier. Megan (OT) and Caitlin (PT) were both fantastic and worked hard to help my mom regain strength, confidence, and independence. Dr. Chapman was also great and very attentive throughout her stay.
We appreciated the nurses and aides as well. They were kind, caring, and attentive throughout her stay. There was only one time we had to call and follow up because her call bell wasn’t answered, but aside from that, the care was excellent.

My stay at Encompass was fabulous. I was extremely nervous about going, but they settled that fear immediately. The OT and PT I endured was balanced to my needs and wants. I was able to build up the confidence I so needed to be able to reach my discharge goals. The doctors and nurses were very attentive to all my needs even when I didn't need anything. You always felt welcome. PS. The food was amazing too!
