Went to have lab work done and the facility was disgusting. I had to provide a urine sample and was horrified to see toilet paper pieces all over the bathroom, it smelled awful, the toilet seat was unclean, and they did not provide adequate cleaning measures prior to giving my sample. When leaving, I did not see if my sample was handled or sealed properly. I would rather go to a place like Quest Diagnostics and pay a copay than go back here for any sort of lab work.
Reviewing the hospital. Care is fine but discharge is a nightmare. Could not be here the exact minute they wanted but notified them would be there by 11:30. They said they would leave her outside. I said unacceptable. Arrived at 11:22. They wheeled my mother right past the front door and took her back to her room. It's now after noon and waiting for someone to still bring her downstairs. What the hell? Customer care is messages only so no help there.
Regarding the Orthopedic Institute at Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion:I took my partner here, for whom I am also a caregiver, on Friday July 14, 2023. One of the nurses was exceptionally rude. I asked the typical, polite question to my partner after she was called: do you want me to come with you?". As usual, she did, because she gets anxious and I have a good memory and take notes of the Doctor's orders. The nurse immediately scolded me and tried to publicly humiliate me for having the audacity to ask that question (this was after my partner joyfully said "yes, please, that's so nice of you to ask".) The nurse said "if you want to be entertained, you can watch the TV". Having read the prominently displayed notice on the entry door to the medical rooms area -- which stated that any noncompliance to any order of the staff, or any argument with the staff will result in a visitor's expulsion -- I decided to say nothing and ignore the continuing denigration given by the nurse.I call upon the leaders of that office and of the facility to institute a policy of being polite to the patients and their partners, and to behave in accordance with normal medical practice standards.
