“I chose Cottage Industries for a project based on their commitment to the community and on glowing reports from friends. The key component of the project was a sunroom addition replacing a late 1950s attached greenhouse. In addition, the existing roof, siding, and windows on the house itself were reaching the end of their life spans. These items were added to the project along with some new exterior details. It was a pleasure working with Adam, Nick, and project manager, Tim. The design/build concept streamlined the process. The additional exterior work resulted in a seamless transition to the new addition. Cottage encourages communication. I don't think a day went by when I did not receive a text with updates. My questions were always answered promptly. Everyone working on the house arrived when expected and left the work areas clean and in good order at the end of the day. Needless to say, the craftsmanship was of the highest quality. I am extremely pleased with the final product and give Cottage Industries my highest recommendation.“
“I have the opportunity to encounter many contractors in my business and have used many plumbers over the years. Personal Plumbing & Drain are marked as "preferred" in my contact list and my most recent plumbing needs reminded why that is so. I had to leave a message but received a call back within a little over an hour (my limit for return calls from contractors). Roland came out, determined how to address the problem and did so efficiently. This plumbing issue was rather "dirty," and he cleaned the area so thoroughly that I felt confident I did not need to "clean again." The guys are very professional and showed up early ready to work. Russell is very responsive to communication and you can tell that he cares about his customers, his company, and the work done. I had them back to paint the kitchen ceiling (which I didn't trust myself doing lol) and let me tell you - another beautiful job and not a drop of paint of out place. Cabinets, countertops, furniture were all covered and protected. I really appreciated the care that they took in making sure everything was protected. “David Wickes has done many projects, large and small, around our house. Like many homes in the area, age has caused everything in our house, including floors, walls, and door openings, to go slightly off-kilter. David is always keenly aware of the special issues that an older home presents when repairs or renovations are involved. He replaced our ugly, drafty, metal front door with a beautiful triple pane glass and wood door; he patiently figured out how to hang the new door properly in our slanted door opening. He also replaced a slipshod folding closet door that had been installed during an earlier renovation with a set of bespoke solid wood doors. David seems to take great joy in tracking down the perfect crystal doorknob or time-period appropriate moulding to make our house look its best. (He is also good at reparing damage inflicted on that beautiful moulding by exuberant puppies). I highly recommend David!“
“Paul and his team poured not only concrete - but their heart and soul into making our dream come true of finishing our basement. They understood that during a pandemic - the need to get it finished so we all had our space and didn't kill each other. At one point a horrible rainstorm get water in the basement just as they started the basement. They literally broke their own backs to pull the framing back off the wall and install a French drain themselves rather than sub-contracting it out. I couldn't believe the labor involved. And then, during the project there was a mushroom coming out of our bathroom ceiling! Not kiddng. They immediately knocked the wall down and removed the mold - wasn't even part of the project! At the end of the project, I saw Freedom, the painting expert of the crew, going back and touching up the walls with fine detail- the pride in his work was impressive. And Shane - there was no job to big or too small - he will move anything you need - no questions asked. Paul was the master of keeping things running smooth and on time, and communicating updates and changes with us all the time. He even made a homemade pull up bar for our daughter. I just marveled at how they did this project.Service: Remodeling“
