As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted with a very friendly hello. It got way better from there. I was ask by the instructor (Darryl) if I had any questions or problems in any positions! So the class was directed towards working on Darce choke defense! The instruction was top notch and I learned so much! Also, I was allowed to video the instruction! This is very rare and helped me tremendously! Then we rolled and it was fantastic. I got to roll with everyone and they were all very nice! I was in PA for a business trip and initially struggled to find a place to train until I found Sion BJJ. The gym itself is quite large, has a workout area, clean mats, and a nice rec space. Steve Austin, the owner, is a legit black belt with an inspirational story which really made me excited to train with him. He has a great teaching style and provides a nurturing, yet competitive, environment for his students. All of his students were tough, respectful, and quite technical which made sparring really fun. I hope to be back in the area soon so that I can train more at Sion BJJ!
