my grandmother has services with the caring matters home care for a couple of years now and she's had the same aide for about three or four years. this aid goes above and beyond. she helps her shower, does the laundry. she cooks her meals and even prepares them for days that she is not with her. they sit and gossip, and she plays card games with her. she told me she taught the aide how to play gin rummy. my grandmother tells me about her all the time, and says how much she enjoys her company, so i know she's happy. it feels good to know that when family cant be here, that theres someone else looking out for her and cares for her just as much as we do.
