First time cutting my hair at the bottom floor of King Edward. Glad that I called first to make a reservation. Once entering the door of Beauty Salon, I was amazed by how clean and artsy inside. It is a spacious room with good lighting, nice environment! Ron cut my hair, I am very satisfied. Will come back again and highly recommended.Service: Haircut

The old dude was bad. He became confrontational and inpatient. Idk what he did with my hair. My hair started to look goofy in just a couple of days. It was a simple haircut. It's a skin fade. And these barbers are not able to do it. Now I had to get another haircut to correct this.

The owner and my beautician of The King Edward Salon is a true artist with my hair. I have waves that I didn't know that I had. Her staff also, dye hair and do nails. . It's beautiful experience.

Kathy is a Croatian immigrant who has lived in Pittsburgh for decades. She is older and her clientele is as old as she is, or older. I have known Kathy for five years and she is one of the kindest and nicest people in the world. Kathy is great at hair styles of the 1950's and 1960's. There is a much younger man who works in her studio on weekend nights I believe that he is still there. She doesn't do much for different hairstyles. I just think that she does what she can the only way she knows how. I know Kathy personally as we have a mutual very dear friend. This is the place for your mother or your grandmother during regular hours usually about 10:30am to 6:00pm, otherwise, reserve a spot with the guy on weekend nights. Kathy will work with you if you need other hours to visit her. Yes, you need to dial code I think it is *99 at the building door and she will buzz you in. Take the elevator to the basement, and her salon is as you walk into the hallway. She has alot of beautiful pieces that adorn her salon.

I really don't recommend this place for a haircut if you're a part of the younger crowd. I think this place is more suitable for older adults/elderly who may have simpler hairstyles and have a set style in which they like their hair. I didn't have an issue with my cut in general, but I will say the woman that cut my hair made me nervous the whole time. She didn't split it into sections and I became concerned it was uneven. Perhaps this is just her style of cutting hair, The staff there is nice, however the location is not optimal. You have to enter in a code to get into the building, then you have to find your way downstairs into the salon. They also don't take cards - it's cash only. There's an ATM on the corner nearby if you need to grab cash before heading in. If you're in need of a quick, cheap trim and feel like giving a shot, then there's no harm in giving it a try. But I have found other salons I enjoy more.

Did my hair today and very pleased. This saloon place is so lovely, full of plants and decorations. It's located at the basement of KingEdward Apartments. You need to enter the apartment building and go downstairs to get there. Call for an appointment and they will guide you in. I think they provide other beauty services too.
