Health Center Associates-UPMC

We moved to the area from Westmoreland County. I had Dr Johnson who is retiring and heard alot of good things about Dr Qu. So we had the insurance cards switched over and was ready for our new doctor. It seemed like a good choice and was pretty happy about it. So an appointment was made and the night before the appointment we were at the hospital all night with our son. Getting home at like 4 am, it was easy to fall asleep. So when we woke up we realized the appointment was missed. It was still a hectic day and calling about the appointment was the last thing on our mind. So moving forward, when we went to schedule a new appointment we were told that she doesn't want us as a patient because of the missed appointment. Now, with Dr Johnson retiring and a need to find a new doctor doesn't seem like an easy choice anymore. What kind of doctor just throws you to the curb over one missed appointment. And if this is a UPMC policy then maybe I'd be better to go with an AGH doctor. I don't know what to say except I am very disappointed. Dr Johnson is a very good doctor and I would have loved to stay with UPMC. But Dr Qu just made my decision to move on after his retirement.
