I was super hesitant coming here bc I hadn’t gotten my eyebrows waxed in over 10 years since I get them threaded. I recently moved to Pittsburgh & there aren’t any threading stations around. So I booked an appointment here. I told the worker I was super nervous bc I didn’t want them too thin. I explained how I wanted them. I’d prefer more eyebrow to less so I didn’t mind if there were strays. She reassures me & waxes my eyebrow, she lifts the strip and reapplies it and waxes my brow again, blindly! She gave me the mirror & a huge chunk of my eyebrow was GONE. I said, why is half of it gone & she looks and says, oh I didn’t mean to do that. She apologized but I left without doing the other eyebrow & told the staff I would not be paying for the service as she messed up my eyebrow. They asked if there was anything they could do, I replied, what can you do? & they just stared. Unfortunately I have a botched eyebrow that will take a couple of months to grow back.
Changed it to 1 star bc the owner's email doesn't work & no one ever reached out.

Love the downtown location, extremely convenient after work! I'm always greeted with a friendly atmosphere and am always remembered as a returning client. Maddy in particular has been excellent, knowledgeable, and professional. She is great at explaining how muscles in the body work, and things I can do outside of the massage to help my aches and pains from all the sports I play. Highly recommend!

My happy place!!! Getting to see miss Emily at least once a month is something that gets me through every annoying interaction at work, every minor inconvenience, and every car problem. “Well, at least I’m seeing Emily next week” truly!!! I’ve been seeing her for over a year now and she has changed the game for my skin!! Can’t catch me going back to my pre-facial life. Treat yourself and book with Emily ❤️❤️

Eleasha is the absolute best. Firm pressure but still makes the experience relaxing and enjoyable and feel better after every session. Everyone is friendly and the spa is clean.

Undo the stress of the plane trip or a long day at the convention center. Hand and Stone is always my pick for a massage place and this one doesn't disappoint. You'll find the rooms here relaxing, calm, and quiet. The staff are super welcoming, and always made sure I knew what to expect. My therapist, Ashley was happy to talk at my level of comfort, always let me know what she felt was going on in my back, and was responsive to my request for adjustments. And of course, she did a fantastic job breaking down all the stress and tension I was carrying in my back.
I think you'll feel it once you step in. Quinn and Alicia (sp?) up front were friendly and personable--helping me through the intake forms and spending just a bit of time to get to know me and what brought me to Pittsburgh. The staff here just cares, and its got the atmosphere that will bring me back again next time I'm in town.

I recently got diagnosed with carpal tunnel in my right hand and wanted some relief, Jeron took amazing care of me! He gave me some pointers on sleep positions, hydration, and body posture! Will definitely be back while I am in Pittsburgh and would reccomend to anyone!!

I was visiting Pittsburgh on a short trip and was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful this city is—everyone is so friendly! While here, I needed a massage and decided to book at Hand & Stone. From my very first phone call, the experience was excellent. The staff member I spoke with was kind, understanding of my short stay, and quickly booked me in.
When I arrived, the friendliness continued. The reception team was welcoming and professional, making me feel comfortable right away.
My massage therapist, Kaitlyn, was absolutely fantastic. She gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Her technique felt intuitive and deeply connected—at times I noticed her eyes were closed, as though she was completely in tune with the energy and flow of the massage. It reminded me of Eastern-style bodywork, which you rarely find in a typical western (RMT) spa!
We incorporated cupping, including gliding cupping, which was incredible. Kaitlyn didn’t need to use extreme pressure to get results—she instinctively found all the right points and left me feeling completely relaxed and tension-free.
I walked out feeling amazing, both physically and mentally. I would highly recommend Hand & Stone, and especially Kaitlyn, to anyone visiting or living in Pittsburgh. I’m already planning to come back in the spring, and when I do, I’ll definitely be booking with Kaitlyn again!
