“I'm very picky and wanted a particular type of accordion, but I wanted to get my hands on it before purchasing. I flew across the country and arrived on a Tuesday, the first day of the week the shop is open. He is an experienced and patient teacher of fundamentals, songs, and flourishes. He points out inconsistencies in technique, dynamics, and timing -- and recommends practice exercises for improvement. Many exercises come from dozens of custom music sheets he hands out for learning different theory, time signatures and styles of drumming including rock, funk, Latin, reggae, jazz, etc. He is flexible and responsive with lesson scheduling and charges reasonable prices. My child was able to learn how to play music and read music with one instructor which helps to tie everything together, especially when you're really new at the instruments.
