Place is unprofessional and doesn’t know how to deal with other types of hair, pulled my babies hair said some unprofessional things and was very rude, to do it an adult is still okay but to do it to a child is mind blowing and unacceptable

Took my daughter in for a curly perm, she was shamed for having a lot of hair, and getting a perm. The first stylist seemed to be very unhappy to do her hair, she was brushing it very harshly and pulling. I was told by Jen(the owner)she was experienced in perms but when wrapping her hair it looked like she was having a lot of trouble and kept huffing and puffing, it took her 2.5 hours to wrap it. When adding the chemicals she kept reading over and over the instructions. While waiting for 20 minutes for the chemicals to work she took another client, we were asked if it was okay for someone else to finish my daughter’s service because she still needed a hair cut, we agreed. The other stylist had curly hair and we were told she was an expert with curly hair. I don’t know why the Stylist kept making comments about how her hair is naturally curly not a perm like my daughter, kept asking her if she really had naturally curly hair because why would she be getting a perm if it was. She felt shamed because of those comment, her head ended up sore from all the pulling. I had very high expectations for this place because it has a 4.9 star rating but I ended up very disappointed and wishing I hadn’t gone in. My daughters hair looks good but the experience just overshadows the results.

Maria did an incredible job with my curly hair! She really understands how to shape and work with curls, and took the time to listen to what I wanted. The cut feels light, natural, and brings out the best in my curls. She also shared helpful tips for styling and care. I left feeling so happy and confident—highly recommend her!

Mary and the entire staff at Crimson (Philly) could not have been more fantastic! Despite not originally having the specific tools necessary for the style I wanted, Mary truly bent over backward to get the supplies to do my hair, and she made it just the best experience overall! I truly felt listened to, and she was so communicative and kind throughout the entire process. It was genuinely one of the best hair salon experiences I've ever had, and Mary is an absolute star of a stylist! I'm definitely coming back to get my hair done again at Crimson in the future, and I just couldn't be more thrilled with the quality of service!
