I was told by a LGI homes representative that I needed to take care of some issues on my credit report to bring my FICO up to a 620. Mr. Nelson said FHA guarantees a mortgage for the lender and your FICO can be a 580. I also had a realtor refer me to a credit repair company and he said that wasn’t necessary. I want to buy a house but I don’t want to get caught up with contracts and spending unnecessary money when it can be used towards saving up for a major purchase.
