As a mother of four—three girls and one boy, all with a full head of hair—I spent so much time caring for everyone else's hair that I neglected my own. For years, I relied on lace-front wigs without properly caring for my natural hair underneath. With summer arriving sooner than expected, I decided it was time to begin both a self-love journey and a healthy hair journey.

Don't get me wrong—lace wigs and frontals are beautiful accessories! But as a young woman, I didn't want them to become a necessity.

Olee de Lux Salon Professionals was the first salon that appeared when I searched for Black-owned hair salons near me on Google. After seeing photos of their work, I was immediately impressed. I emailed them, shared my story, and Mark responded almost instantly. He was knowledgeable, professional, and consistent in his communication, which meant a lot to me.

Since this was my first hair appointment in 15 years and I don't get off work until 4:30 p.m., I was worried I wouldn't be able to get an appointment. Thankfully, Mark connected me with Jamie, who is such a beautiful soul (honestly, they all are!). It truly felt like a blessing.
