North Star Holistic Health Yoga

“I recently had a craniosacral massage at North Star Holistic Health to address a chronic rash issue, and I must say the experience exceeded my expectations. Blakey, my therapist, was absolutely amazing! Not only was the session incredibly relaxing, but I noticed a significant improvement in my skin's condition immediately after the massage. The redness had noticeably diminished, which was a huge relief for me.The entire atmosphere at North Star Holistic Health is calming and welcoming, and the staff's expertise is evident from the moment you walk in. Blakey's skill and knowledge in craniosacral massage truly made a difference in my well-being.I highly recommend North Star Holistic Health, especially if you're looking for holistic solutions to health concerns. Thank you, Blakey for the wonderful experience and the positive change in my skin. I'll definitely be returning for more sessions! ?????“

“I’m literally obsessed with this place. The coaches are the best in Philly — if not the world! They put a great amount of time and care in setting everyone up for success, and absolutely everyone is cheering you on. I’ve learned so much during my short time here already and look forward to every single time I enter the gym. It really is a special place that also spends a lot of time giving back to the Philly community.“

“This journey, if you choose to take it, is a life changing one.For me, getting into the Intermediate class is when I really got the high of jiu-jitsu, becuase thats where essentially all sparring happens and you really start getting in touch with the art, the people, and the work. Really loved it but I got a concussion during a very intense standing spar (not very common in this sport). Being a grad student, this was really bad, but Phil and the team listened to what happened and helped me out.“

“I feel fortunate to have found this studio over 7 yrs ago. I've practiced in person and virtually at Blue Banyon Yoga. Began taking yoga classes over 40 yrs ago. Hands down, these are the finest, most experienced, healthy, vibrant, attentive, well educated instructors I've ever encountered. I credit my current spine health which has had past needed surgical intervention to my practice and attention to the education I've received at Blue Banyan Yoga.“

EveryBody Movement and Wellness Yoga

“EveryBody Movement and Wellness is a fantastic studio. I have been taking pilates classes here for several months and have been delighted with my experience. I had no prior experience with pilates but it quickly became a significant part of my life.I have taken pilates classes with Gabi, Kalila, and Megan. They are all wonderful and bring their own unique vibes to their classes. They are knowledgeable about body mechanics and modifications for different injuries or body types, and provide tips on how to adjust the challenge level of an exercise. From what I have observed they are also truly welcoming to different body types, genders, etc. and the studio is a nonjudgmental space where it's easy to focus on doing the work. Class sizes are also small (especially equipment classes) so you can get personal attention if needed. If you want a gentler, chiller workout (especially if you, like me, had bad gym class experiences, or if you have injuries or other restrictions to work around) that is still challenging and gets results I highly recommend taking classes here. My body looks better, but more importantly, I feel like I can move and function in ways previously unknown to me. I also have a lot more awareness of my body and how it's feeling. Pilates has been a very positive addition to my life and I am thankful to Julia and the instructors at EveryBody. If you're on the fence about trying it, just go for it.“

“I have trained with Richard Robinson sensei for over 20 years, and have visited his dojo when I am in PA many, many times. This is a great place to learn and train in martial arts. Robinson sensei has Black Belts in multiple styles, and is a most talented instructor in Nami ryu Aiki Heiho. The folks in the dojo are great to train with. There are a handful of instructors who share decades of experience in this dojo. If you like swords, jujutsu, and samurai lore, and live in the Philly/Ft. Washington area, you want to check out the River of Life Martial Arts \\u0026 Wellness Center.“

Adrian King Massage Arts Yoga

“If you have chronic pain, or an injury, or just general aches and discomfort from overwork or posture, you should try working with this guy. I had a massage from Adrian a few months ago thanks to a gift certificate I was given last Christmas. If I could afford to, I would see him every week. Our session did go a little over time because he gave me the time I needed to try to work out where I thought my pain was coming from, and I thank him for that. He let me talk the entire time and ask him questions, which I did to try to help him figure out where the origin of my neck pain was, but he seemed to know just by feel and yeah… In one session he was able to teach me the correct range of motion for my neck when I turn it to the left. He showed me how the pain and stiffness I felt when turning my head was due to chronic bad posture. It was beyond enlightening. I try to work on my posture all the time, but I never feel like I am in control of it because I’ve never had proper posture due to a sedentary upbringing.Getting my neck to turn all the way to the left without my shoulder tightening felt like some kind of spiritual miracle, like my body has been wanting to return to some some proper state of function my whole life. He showed me how what I thought was normal when I turned by head was actually my traps straining to stabilize my head and how I actually have to go against my body’s instinct to tighten my shoulders. One day when I’m not living paycheck to paycheck I will attempt to make a regular appointment with Adrian. I have had some great massages before but not like this. This was an eye opening experience I think about months later.“
