Nodoguro is a rare gem in the Portland dining scene. I have enjoyed the pleasure of dining at Nodoguro since its pop-up days more than 10 years ago, and still find myself surprised and delighted by the creativity and tastiness in every bite. Chef Ryan Roadhouse combines and elevates premium fresh ingredients (local and imported) into mini culinary masterpieces that engage all the senses. I have been following Nodoguro since their opening 12 years ago. The food was always delicious and amazingly creative, just getting better and better!!! I am so happy with taste and quality of every dish! For this new restaurant, only I miss the coziness and relaxed atmosphere. It was crowded and I had to speak loud to my friends in my table which never experienced the previous restaurants Chef owned. Well, we all go to restaurants for the taste and quality of food. For that, it is 10 out of 10 as always.

Now my favorite fine dinning restaurant experience in Portland. We had the Chefs Counter tasting menu with the Sake pairing and it was fantastic. Their service added to the experience. The 26 course tasting menu was grouped in a water theme across five acts and a dessert epilogue. Their soups, octopus, sushi dishes like smoked blue fin tuna, Uni were the best I've ever had. The only dish I didn't care for was their mackerel and the salad dish which was forgettable but 24 out of 26 dishes and the fantastic service puts them as my new favorite restaurant in Portland.
