The geriatric department is blessed to have Dr Lamantia as it's director. He brings empathy and knowledge to an oft neglected area of VA medical services. In my case, a diagnosis in January of this year saved my life.Thank you to the Director of Operations of the Portland VA mMedical Center for putting Dr Lamantia on the staff.

I had a left hip replacement done by Dr Anisian and his surgical team on 12/12/2023. Not quite 3 months later and my ONLY complaint is I had to let it heal before the right side could be done. It was approved to proceed today and will likely be done early May. I couldn't be happier with the level of care provided by my entire team, right down to the nurses who tended me overnight and until my release.

Generally overall this VA provides quality care. The women’s clinic is top notch. However- today I had to get something done and after was going to go get an xray that I’ve needed for a good minute. I absolutely have no options for childcare and instead of approaching the subject of having my child with me with professionalism, the guy at the window checking people in was rude, short, and lacks customer service skills. I guess I just won’t get the xray I need because I have no other options here for healthcare or childcare. Thanks VA ??
