I just moved to Portland a couple of weeks ago and had no idea where to go for a new dentist so this was my first try... everyone was incredibly helpful and kind. They were respectful, professional, listened to me well, and communicated clearly. I'll be honest, I just get good vibes

The cleaning went fine, dental hygienist was a bit rude, and didn't bother introducing herself or making small talk, which is fine, everyone has off days. Before I left, I asked about payment, the receptionist said I was all set, and I figured an in-network cleaning was completely covered by my insurance. Today I received a bill for over $200 for a simple teeth cleaning, nothing extensive. My insurance will only cover half of the amount the office billed for. I provided my insurance details before the appointment, so if they are no longer in-network, why didn't the receptionist mention anything? Why wouldn't the receptionist cover the potential costs before I left? Why does their ZocDoc profile claim they are in network with my insurance? Are they overbilling insurance to make more money? Absolutely ridiculous, definitely avoid this office.

I'm very unhappy with my experience at Bridge City Smiles. I had one dental cleaning here that was fine, but every other experience was awful including a tooth (molar) that was drilled too short, is now sensitive and causing a sore inside my cheek. Firstly, after my cleaning and checkup I scheduled the recommended filling replacement, I was given a few options for dates and chose Jan 17th 2023, the appointment was scheduled at the end of 2022. On December 21st I received a TEXT message from Bridge City Smiles that my insurance was no longer taken (as of January 15th!) at their office and my appointment was cancelled. No phone call just a text. I would guess they knew prior to my appointment if they would take my insurance 20 +/- days later or not so that was pretty weird, not to mention that they couldn't bother to call to tell me personally and give me options. The filling scheduled would be mostly out of pocket anyway and all of my X-rays had been done there so I called too see if I could keep my appointment and I would pay out of pocket. They scheduled me for Jan 18th, their earliest appointment. I wish I had not received the dental work, however, because when I came out the tooth felt sharp, the recessed area felt too deep and this is where the treatment went really wrong. The receptionist told the dentist my feedback, he called me back and asked "does it feel too high?" I said "it feels sharp and the hole feels too high" well from his angle perspective looking into my mouth I think "high" meant something totally different to him. He acted surprised then abruptly sat me down and quickly drilled the tooth much shorter.... He was obviously in a rush to just get it done and not use care or caution. I could tell immediately that it was not right. The integrity of my existing healthy tooth had been compromised and it's weeks later and still doesn't feel "right" plus as I said it's causing a sore in my mouth because of the angle of the part of my tooth that was filed down way too far. I would also like to note that I have healthy teeth and rarely need fillings, but I've learned my lesson on trusting new dentists so quickly. If I were you I would not go here for anything other than a cleaning, and in that case it isn't really worth it.

I have been to this dentist twice now and today was my first filling. The receptionist was very kind and accommodating both times and was very willing to work with my schedule. Dr. Kim was very kind, gentle and a pleasure to work with on both occasions. He seemed to really care that I was not in pain and took great lengths to ensure my comfort. His assistants were all kind and approachable. I get a lot of anxiety at the dentist but so far everyone at this office has made my experience wonderful. I feel like I am in good hands with Bridge City Smiles. Thank you for such great care!

I absolutely love this dentist office! Everyone here is super friendly, helpful, and professional. I have been in several times over last 6-8 months for routine cleanings, fillings, and even an emergency inflamed gum situation- and every experience has been awesome. Can't recommend enough!
