I have been a client for 20+ years and Melinda is gifted in hair, I have tried 2 others ladies and have always been happy. Moxie for Hair is a gem and wish I could find a place like Moxie in Knoxville Tn and it has been 3 years and have not been successful so needless to say when I go to Portland I make sure I make an appointment. You do need to make an appointment with advance notice because they are that GOOD!!

Rebekah is the BEST. She always makes me look incredible. She is so talented and personable. I’d recommend her to anyone.

This is the first review I've ever written. Even after a bad experience, I'm the type who chooses to forgive and forget as I understand that everyone has a bad day. At first, I was going to do the same thing about my experience at Moxie. But Rebekah was so unprofessional and my hair not only looks awful but is so ruined, that it's breaking all over, so I feel like consumers deserve to know. I contacted Moxie and asked for someone who knows how to handle Asian hair. A few days later, Rebekah contacted me and I was grateful that she agreed to do my hair late on a Friday. I only wanted to lighten my hair 2-3 shades, but Rebekah said she had to bleach my hair. So I sat in the chair while she did highlights all over. Then she preceded to put the toner on which covered up all the bleaching she had just done. I could see her visibly flustered and I noticed her changing the toner color a few times. But after sitting in the chair for three hours, I walked out with highlights barely noticeable and only on top and just on one side of my head. Some highlights had reddish hue and others looked more ash/gray. She said highlights would be more noticeable after I wash my hair. She still charged me and I paid her over $220 including tip. The next day, I was hoping I could notice the highlights more in the daylight, but that wasn't the case. I was upset that I paid over $200 and it looked awful so I texted her. She said it bothered her too and asked me to come in on 7am on Sunday so she could fix it. I was doubtful, but she promised me that it was a real easy fix and that it wouldn't ruin my hair at all. She said she'll bring coffee. So I said yes and showed up at 7am on Sunday. She arrived later than me with no coffee. She proceeded to put something on my hair that's supposed to strip the toner. It smelled strong so I asked her, are you sure this is not going to ruin my hair? She brushed it off and said that it probably smells strong because it's early morning???? After the toner was stripped off, you could see my highlights more but they looked uneven and my hair definitely looked more damaged. Worried, I asked her if the toner is able to fix all that. She said it would. She called me to the sink and proceeded to put something on my hair. I didn't know what it was and it smelled really strong so I asked her what it was. I didn't want any more toner stripper on my hair. She snapped at me and cried out, "it's the toner! It only deposits color and won't ruin your hair. You can look it up yourself, it's called ____!" I was shocked that she would speak in this tone to a client. When she was done, I said, "You asked me to send you a photo so I took the time to find one and send you, but this looks nothing like the photo. It's neither the haircut nor the color I asked for. Her response was that the photo was to serve as inspiration only. I'm including the photo I sent her so you understand that what I was asking for wasn't anything complicated. I don't understand how I asked for this, but walked out with uneven dirty blonde 90s highlights. In the end, she told me she can't fix it and gave me $100 back out of $220 I'd paid her. My hair looked so awful that I didn't even have to ask for it, she just handed me. But it would take more than that to fix my hair and nothing could bring back the damage that's been caused by her ineptitude. As I left, I asked her about the coffee she said she'd bring me and she said, "whatever" and rolled her eyes like a teenager. Wow, how professional and what a perfect ending to an awful experience. Throughout the whole exchange, I remained respectful, but Rebekah turned defensive and rude once I started asking questions.

Jennifer was amazing! Salon was clean and comfortable. Will definitely be going back regularly.
