Bagel, our 3-year old Beagle had her vaccinations and any other current preventive
care covered by our Optimum Wellness Plan recently and we are grateful for the peace of mind we have that she is up to date and healthy.

Always put me at ease about my dog whether I’m dropping him off or stopping in for a visit. Would highly recommend!

The staff are more than attentive and caring. They made the care as smooth and painless as possible. Would highly recommend.

Understaffed so I paid for months and months on their scam insurance. The amount I paid over the years for the insurance could’ve paid for the spay/ neutering that they rescheduled several times SEVERAL. Especially LAST MINUTE. I would even walk in with an appointment for it to be rescheduled. I WILL NOT COME HERE. I “owe” to collectors I already reported and my bank blocked. Scam. Banfield is not a reputable vet nobody in the clinic ever knew what they were doing it seemed. They always had vets quitting so they were always understaffed looking for new staff!

Fairly uncaring company. They really only care about money and not you or your pets. Employees are nice but this is a terrible company to work with. I’d recommend almost any other vet clinic.

The pros: All the staff at my location have been very nice, especially front desk and the techs. Thank you for all of your care with my cats.

Access to appointments, urgent and otherwise, was easy.

Everyone was very kind when we had to put our cat down and the process was mostly smooth and empathetic.

    The cons:
READ THE FINE PRINT OF THE WELLNESS PLAN BEFORE YOU SIGN. ESPECIALLY FOR SENIOR/ILL CATS THAT MAY DIE.

This part is my fault for not asking/reading the fine print but please use me as a warning. If your pet dies while on a wellness plan, you will still need to pay for the plan after their death or pay off the balance you have. You cannot transfer the plan to another (living) animal.

I will also echo other reviewers and say that communication is not good. I had to call every week for several weeks to ask for updates on the status of surgery for my kitty with an eye tumor. No one ever called me back or told me that no surgeon was willing to touch it. I had to figure that out on my own.

You see a different vet every time you go, which would be fine normally but no one reads past history within their own system so it's like starting over every time.

Wouldn't even give me my dogs last dose I paid for because I said I found a cheaper vet. Not to mention my dog had a 8 am drop off I had to call them at 5 pm about my dog. They then said oh we forgot she's next, pick her up at closing 6 pm.

The service and prices are just fine. Comparable to any other vet in Portland. What is not fine, is the lack of communication. There has been several times when I show up after checking google only to find the place closed with a random sign of 'closed today' . Like today, April 11th. I came to pick up my dogs prescription after seeing 'open' on Google only to find the place is closed.
I get constant emails from this place to remind me to bring my pets in or sign up to some service, but you can't send an email communicating your closures? You can't even be bothered to update google? WHY?
All four of my pets are literally on the monthly wellness plans. There is no reason why people who pay for premium services shouldn't be made aware of changes, Closures etc.
No grace whatsoever when you are even 5 minutes late to an appointment. I arrived 7 minutes late after giving my dog calming drugs only to be told that they can't see him anymore. Absolutely no grace towards clients and patients.
I've already reached oit as well to 'customer care'...no answer so far.
    You guys rock!

Last time I visited for my cats annual check up they were so quick and kind. Thanks for taking care of my kitty.

I used to go here for my dog as a puppy, but today I was going through my old vet notes from them and they were very rude about me. I guess they hated me the whole time. I would not recommend them in hindsight, WOW.
