About Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Ontario
Saint Alphonsus Medical Center is a 4-hospital health system serving Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada communities. Patients describe a lovely experience where staff showed no quarms about a patient leaving for a son's birthday. The hospital provides supportive and helpful nurses who explain everything and ask if patients are comfortable with the plan. Deliveries are smooth and staff are wonderful to work with. The only issue noted was a shift change, which was an understandable human error. Every person is kind, professional, and empathic, giving great care to the absolute limits of their ability. ER visits are met with compassion and speed, with nurses and doctors who do not leave patients to rot. Surgery patients report an amazing experience, with very very nice staff who make the day, even when feeling depressed and nervous. Dr. Gilbert and the entire nursing staff are amazing, taking care of patients quickly, with Dr. Gilbert described as one of the nicest, most compassionate medical professionals ever met. One patient noted a shocking difference in treatment at the spine clinic in Nampa, surprised both locations are owned by the same people.
I’m giving 3 stars because although my issue was eventually resolved by Angie who is a referral receptionist, the overall experience has been stressful — especially while pregnant.
When I contacted the ultrasound scheduling department to follow up on my referral, I was told they had “over 100+ referrals to input” and that I should call Valley Family again because they are too busy and it wasnt in my chart so she cant do anything. I understand that offices are busy, but the way it was communicated made me feel dismissed rather than supported. My wife and I had our first child here. From the very beginning all of the nurses were so supportive and helpful. They explained everything to us and were always asking us if we were comfortable with the plan. The delivery was smooth and the staff were so wonderful to work with! Thank you so much for all you did to help make our day so special.
The only time I ever had an issue here was during a shift change, which was a understandable human error. Otherwise each and every person I have interacted with in this hospital has been kind, professional, and empathic.
This place gives great care to the absolute limits of their ability and it shows. When they lack the expertise, they help you cut through the fat to get to someone who knows.
Both of my ER visits were met with compassion and speed. Nurses don't leave you to rot and neither do the doctors.
Sadly... They sent me to the spine clinic in Nampa... The difference in treatment was shocking. I'm surprised both locations are owned by the same people.
