“Kao Chao at Haircut of Today is the Perfect Barber. My hair was a mess, a blob in several directions. I don't need fu-fu frills, just the type of haircut Dad and I used to get. I showed my mop to Mr. Chao, then showed him how long I wanted my hair to be, and he got right to it. He only charged me $16. Wow. Exactly what I needed. The shop is easy to miss because 82nd Avenue is extremely busy in this section. I was watching traffic in all directions, which on a busy Saturday afternoon tends to suddenly bunch up and stop in front of you. Expect to drive by the entrance here, maybe double back to get in. Haircut of Today is on the East side of 82nd. Once you're here, there are a lot of parking spaces, and the lot connects with others nearby. Exiting the lot is easy, especially northbound.
Just an update- it's worth knowing a reviewer returns, and that's certainly the case with Haircut of Today. It's April 26, three months later and I'm getting shaggy again. Mr. Chao did his customary excellent, fast job. I know I'll be visiting him as long as he stays in business. Speaking of which, Mr. Chao, we all know costs are rising, for you, too. I don't think you'd lose any of your loyal customers if you charged $20 instead of $16. ?“
