I have been coming here since 2004 when I lived in the area and the store belonged to someone else. Over the years not too much has changed but it has lost its folky magical vibe and instead has become more streamlined which I suppose goes hand in hand with the current times. When I’m in Toronto, I still visit and come away with a few teas and soaps, but it’s also more for the nostalgia that I associate this shop and area with. I’m happy it has been able to survive when so many other businesses in the area have been lost to gentrification.
I cannot recommend this apothecary and Dr. Arlene Dubier enough. Arlene has been incredible in helping me strengthen my immune system after a series of illnesses, and is now treating my toddler son as well. She is knowledgeable, attentive, and truly takes the time to listen and address every concern. She is also caring and responsive post-appointments. We are grateful for her support.
I’ve also been using a tincture from the apothecary that has been amazing.
