I first saw Cooney For Hair while just riding on the Queen St street car, and was immediately drawn by the salon. I made my appointment after seeing Cooney’s work on Instagram, and it was one of THE best decisions I’ve made in Toronto thus far. I love my hair, and the fact that Cooney guided me through the process of cutting and styling it. And he made sure to cater to my styling skill level/ daily hair routine, basically keeping things simple and showing me the end-result of what my hair would look like for the everyday—not overly styled in a way that I could never replicate at home. I have been going to Cooney's for haircuts since 2005. Going through life I have moved from downtown TO to Newmarket, and grown from young fresh grad to Mom of two teens and a seasoned professional. I have changed doctors, dentists and other services to local providers. For 21 years even through COVID, Cooney is the one and only hairdresser. Cutting hair is never a routine for Cooney. He puts special care into the cut so what you have today is the same the next day and in fact the cut somehow lasts many months as hair grows. I love how natural and effortless the cut always looks.
