BMV Books is a treasure trove for book lovers and collectors, offering a vast selection of books, comics, films, CDs, and vinyl records. With a wide-ranging collection, customers can easily find rare and niche titles, including anthropology and archaeology books. The store has three floors, with good use of space, and its knowledgeable staff make it a favorite destination in the city. The prices are unbeatable and the selection is incredible, with used books and comics in like new condition. Customers can find great used movies, CDs, and records, making it a reliable spot for media finds, although it is recommended to plan ahead as there is no public bathroom.
I come here once a month, and I'm lost for hours, I always have a list of Books I'd like to acquire, same as Criterion DVDs. Two weeks ago I scored the Criterion DVD of ANTICHRIST by Lars Von Trier, which was in impeccable condition. Then scored a book that's been following me around for awhile, Blackouts by Justin Torres. A nice Queer book that my gay friend Nick will enjoy. I've scored some sweet Books here over the last few years, as I discovered it via a mate who lived near by in 2022. I like finding bigger books in size as they always put on a dust jacket, as my Library is the Smoking Room, the Dust Jackets are integral to keeping my books jaundice free. Nice location with a handful of options. Nice people work there! Only thing I'd reproach is that there's no database, hence if you're looking for a book, it's all up to you.
My favourite secondhand book store because of their huge collection (multiple floors) and they carry newer titles too. Prices aren’t the cheapest but still very fair and discounted compared to the original prices.
