The sign of bad a wig specialist is when they direct you to slow-movers, convince you to look your age, or rigidly insist your current colour is the way to go "in case any of your real hair comes through." Meanwhile, they'll socialise and side-chat with a longtime client or other employee as you stand there looking only at the wigs or hair pieces that they brought out to show you, none of which were ones you described or even remotely like. The excellent ones focus on you, to help you find uniquely-you hair. They make suggestions to expand your expectations, but still listen if you don't want to go with certain colours or shades or even lengths. They also let you look at everything and explain the differences between different features and materials, which can be altered (trimmed, thinned out, etc.) and which can be styled and worn when oven cooking. You are the most important person in the room. It's okay to feel overwhelmed by the selection and the information you're being given, and need to walk away. But, it's from a positive experience and you will remember them when you are ready to go back. Wig Boutique Sault Ste Marie is 100% the latter. After having a rough experience elsewhere getting convinced to wear a hairpiece that was not "me" (I also felt rushed while the consultant chatted with her other client, even though I booked for a private session & haircut), I was very hesitant to try another place. I waited over a year to try Wig Boutique SSM. Everything I described about excellent wig specialists, they really are. After experiencing extensive hair loss due to previous chemo treatments, menopause and ongoing hormone-blocking treatment, Gail and Lisa both made me feel seen with personalised care and attention. I absolutely love the 2 wigs I ended up buying as I couldn't make my mind up between the two, & also had altered there to suit my face better (not a requirement, I'm just rather fussy about hair touching my face too much). I highly recommend them, and look forward to visiting again for another wig (have you watched Schitt's Creek? lol), wig maintenance / wash products from wear, or even just a regular (own) haircut 😊

I recommend if you need help with your hair, go there. They know exactly what they are doing. My friend got a beautiful natural wig that I love....in 10 minutes!!!
