A few weeks ago I came into town and I wanted to get my 3 1/2 year olds haircut .. I didn’t book an appointment as I had a number of other appointments booked in town that day and didn’t want things to be running late.. I knew that was a risk I would be taking in terms of maybe not getting my son in for a haircut. We got there (Hollywood station mall) and he instantly become a toddler hiding saying he didn’t want his hair cut the lady was like “well I won’t be cutting his hair if he’s going to be acting like that” My sister in law went to go buy some smarties to bribe him with and I stayed to get him in the chair and everything. He seen the clippers and started saying how he didn’t want the clippers cause they tickle and she was just utterly rude and not helping his reactions .. “he clearly doesn’t want his haircut” and looked at him and said “if you don’t stop I’m not going to cut your hair” well that of course promoted him to be like okay and get off the seat .. she huffed and puffed the whole time . we got back into the car and my 3 year old looked at me and said that lady wasn’t nice I want to go to a nicer place . (Something to think about when a 3 year old can sense that a 30/40 year old women isn’t being nice) Later that day we went down to Hollywood in the Cambrian mall and he acted the same way.. but instead of the hair dresser being rude .. she talked to him and asked him about his toy he had .. when he got into the chair and she pulled out the clippers and he got worked up again she said will you let me use scissors and he said yes .. she was wonderful with him! Yes due to the fact that clippers weren’t used I had to trim a couple pieces that night in his sleep and I’ll have to go back in September again cause it wasn’t as short as it could have been but I am perfectly happy to go back to that location When we left my son was like “that place much nicer”
