Headed out to Hillcrest Mall last Friday evening to kill some time before golden hour and ended up staying longer than planned. The natural light coming through the skylights around 6pm was honestly beautiful, the kind of soft diffused glow that makes even a casual phone shot look decent. Staff at the information desk were genuinely helpful when I asked about the upper level layout, no attitude, just friendly. For a suburban mall it has a comfortable, unhurried vibe that I appreciated after a long week.

Celebrating its 50th Anniversary !! Great mall, with lots of brand name stores. No crowds to fight, lots of parking everywhere, what else can you ask for! This mall gets better and better.. worth to visit. Starbucks, Sporting life, Sport Chek, Lululemon, Gap, Best Buy Express, Claires, Tim Hortons, Indigo, Marshalls, Body Shop, Shoppers Drug Mart, Hudsons Bay and the list goes on.

When I was growing up, Hillcrest was the mall you only went to if you HAD to, or were going to a movie.
While I still miss the theatres, the mall has VASTLY improved with many more relevant stores and services. Ramona’s kitchen is a nice addition, and the mall is so much brighter and open feeling.
