Dr. Hongda Shen is beyond caring and compassionate. He takes time to speak to explain things to patients. Very kind - humble - sweet hearted Doctor!
Had a physiotherapist do acupuncture, no where near as good.
Dr. Hongda is amazing!!!! After being hit from behind by a fat bike I was unable to walk, hunched over and always in pain. I even had to take a medical leave from work. I went to specialists, osteopaths and physio with no improvement until acupuncture. My first visit i was limping, hunched over and had a hard time getting onto the bed. After 3 weeks of treatment I was walking upright and my limp was slight. After 7 weeks I was able to return to work (I'm a dental assistant) part time and at 12 weeks back to full time. I was a novice when I decided to go for acupuncture. I checked out the listings and read the evaluations on acupuncturists in the Ottawa area. I chose Hongda Shen at Minda Acupuncture as my acupuncturist even though he was some distance from my home (50kms).
I was concerned about how much pain there may be with the needles. There was none and there should be none as you are supposed to relax after the needles are placed correctly. If you experience any pain, tell him and he will adjust the needle.
