After decades of having a poor relationship with fitness, Coach David and the folks at Love Your Body have brought me to looking forward to my time at the gym! I really appreciate that David’s training is focused on functional strength training to be used in every day life, and a long-term positive experience with fitness. Starting from zero every workout has been tailored to myself, and David is quick to adjust his plan, if needed. David is positive and supportive, as well as kind and considerate. The whole team has such an upbeat and welcoming approach. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year with LYB, and especially Coach David!

I’ve been training with David for over a year, and it’s been a great experience. He always challenges me to lift heavier in a way that builds my confidence without making me feel pressured. I did my first 60 hour school placement here at LYB. The coaches were all so welcoming and kind that I decided to come back and do another 120 hours! During my time at LYB my supervisor Julia made my placement an exceptional experience. She was so friendly and made me feel like part of the LYB family. I learned so much from the coaches, including Coach David who gave me a unique and helpful perspective into training. I highly recommend LYB to anyone looking to join a vibrant community with amazing coaches who will not only help you reach your fitness goals, but walk alongside you and cheer you on as you do it!

I spent over 4 weeks doing a co-op at LYB! LYB is amazing, with the literal best trainers in Ottawa!! I'm forever grateful for the experience and guidance I received during my co-op. Julia is amazing. She is incredibly kind, always excited to answer my questions, help with form and even with my own programming. David is such a unique trainer. I learned so many new exercises and modifications through him. It was never a dull day with David and I always learned something new. I saw first hand just how much Julia and David help their clients and all I can hope is I can be even half the trainer they are in my future. Highly recommend Love Your Body as a whole. Such a fun, inclusive, and welcoming gym. Will always have a special place in my heart. <3

Came in for a look see as I was walking by and was struck by how nice and so down to earth most everyone was in there!!! Signed up for some semi private sessions and was training with the nicest person, David. Great trainer in that he focused on our form and slowly built us up. Loved that there are NO mirrors there and that not only the clients but the trainers as well came in all sizes. I would/do highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to Love their Body!

I met Kate many years ago as a trainer and yoga practitioner and she immediately stood out to me as someone kind, gentle, and inclusive. I followed Kate on Instagram and watched her build her gym from afar into a representation of these very things. Therefore, when I found myself at my most broken and vulnerable, I found the courage to reach out to Kate for help.
I used to be very fit but after a gym injury many years prior my body slowly declined. By the time I contacted Kate, I was in a very difficult place - everything hurt: sitting, standing, lying down. I had no balance and even struggled to lift my leg to put it through a pair of pants. I honestly didn't know where to start and felt hopeless and helpless.
After hearing my story, Kate suggested personal training with David - and I am SO GRATEFUL she did!
I've been training for a few years now, and I often joke that he is a magician, because he somehow makes the impossible feel possible and the pain go away. I am someone who gets anxious easily, but he creates a space that is safe, encouraging, and supportive. He designs workouts that challenge me while helping me believe in him with proven results - and, over time, believe in myself.
I am not a morning person and look forward to my mornings training with David. No two workouts have ever been the same. He listens deeply, respects where I'm at, and understands when my mind or my body is limited, always adapting without judgement.
Training with David has given me back parts of my life I thought were gone. It has allowed me to follow my teenage son around the world as he's grown and keep up with active, adventurous experiences I once believed were completely out of reach - those are memories I will cherish forever and wouldn't have had otherwise.
I couldn't recommend David highly enough as a trainer. Words don't do justice to the impact he has had on my physical capability and on my life.
