I first came in there for a maintenance trim feeling wary and unsure, but those ladies are a secret gem! They've both been doing hair for over 30 years and were unusually knowledgeable, experienced and receptive for a First Choice, even towards gender-nonconfirming cuts like mine. They tailored their care to the hair's profile and personalize to taste. Each session was an ongoing dialogue so every step of the way was to my taste/comfort zone, and it was always about finding "what feels good." I've been to more than three sessions now. I had a wonderful experience getting my haircut at this location. To begin with, I haven’t had my hair cut in 34 years. I had long damaged hair and I was way overdue for a cut. I was leaving town in a few days for travels and wanted a new look. Since I work long hours and I did not have a day off until I flew out of Ottawa, I was grateful they were open Sunday! The lady who answered the phone was super king and very professional. I live right next door so she gave me an appointment right away.
