Randomly discovered this place on Google Maps because they were the only salon still open past 8 PM. I asked if they had room for a walk-in, and they accommodated me even without an appointment. I just wanted a haircut because I was getting frustrated with my DIY home haircut situation.
The moment I walked in, Kulio immediately explained the pricing, so I already knew what to expect and there were no surprises. What was surprising, though, was the level of skill and care I experienced. From the outside, the place looks very unassuming, but inside is a talented hairdresser who clearly knows exactly what he’s doing.
As soon as I sat down, he asked what I wanted, assessed the current state of my hair, and explained what would work best for my face shape and hair type. He made thoughtful suggestions and explained the reasoning behind them, which I really appreciated. I trusted him to do what he needed to do, and he absolutely delivered.
I’ve never been to a salon where someone took the time to really understand me, my hair, and what it needed, whether that meant creating more volume, thinning certain sections, or balancing the shape overall. Throughout the appointment, he explained everything he was doing, which made me feel informed and comfortable the entire time.
He was also teaching his assistant while working on my hair, and honestly, I found myself listening and learning too, even though they were speaking another language most of the time. Whenever I had questions, he answered them openly and never made me feel like I was interrupting. It felt more like a learning experience than just a haircut.
The negative reviews initially made me skeptical, but I was desperate for a haircut and I’m really glad I took the chance. Kulio clearly has decades of experience and it shows in his work. I can’t speak for everyone else’s experiences, but personally, I felt welcomed, taken care of, and well-informed every step of the way. They are very professional BUT friendly.
Also, shoutout to his assistant, who was incredibly gentle while washing and drying my hair. A lot of salons tend to rush and be rough, but this was probably the first time water didn’t end up in my ears during a wash. Tiny detail, huge difference. 🌿
Overall, don’t let a few bad reviews stop you from giving this place a chance. Everyone has off days, after all. 🙌🏻

Cozy shop in the Yonge and Finch area, very nice deco (especially the hair washing area and washroom), Stanley is very experienced and he listened to my instructions attentively, with checks and confirmations along the way, overall satisfied and would recommend this place to others!
