    My experience was extremely disappointing and raises serious concerns about their reliability, transparency, pricing, and overall workmanship.

    I want to be clear that I do not normally leave reviews. I created this account specifically to share this experience, which should indicate how dissatisfied I was.

    I booked my appointment by phone 10 days in advance and clearly explained what work was needed. Despite this, they kept my car for two full days, which makes the lack of efficiency and thoroughness even more concerning. I specifically told them that my vehicle had been sitting unused for six months. When I picked up my car, I specifically asked about the condition of the oil and was told it had been inspected. Even so, they returned my car with the coolant at the LOW line and the engine oil barely above the LOW mark — basic checks that should be automatic after long-term storage. None of this was mentioned to me. I only discovered it because I inspected the car myself.

    The invoice was vague and incomplete. I had my tires switched from summer to winter, yet this service was not listed on the receipt, and there was no mention of tire pressure being checked or adjusted. I had to go to a gas station myself to inflate the tires to the proper PSI. Additionally, the condition of my winter tires was never discussed or communicated to me, which is something I would reasonably expect when tires are being installed.

    I also had my brakes serviced here, yet there was no mention on the invoice or in conversation about brake fluid being checked or addressed. Given that brake fluid is a critical safety component, the lack of documentation or explanation was concerning.

    Furthermore, the shop recommended replacing the battery. After the fact, I discovered that the battery was only a year old and was covered by the warranty. The staff did not ask about warranty coverage or inform me of this option, which would have allowed me to replace the battery at no cost. This was simply not communicated, which felt like a missed opportunity to handle the situation more efficiently. This lack of communication resulted in an unnecessary out-of-pocket expense of $270. They defaulted to replacement instead of explanation. This is lazy and profit-driven behaviour.

    To make matters worse, their pricing was above standard for the work performed. As a first-time customer with no referral, I couldn’t help but feel that I was overcharged, especially given the lack of communication and attention to detail.

    I also had a safety inspection performed here, and based on the missed basics, incomplete documentation, and poor communication throughout this visit, I do not feel confident trusting the accuracy of their safety report.

    Between the 10-day advance booking, two-day delay, inflated pricing, incomplete paperwork, lack of communication, and questionable thoroughness, this experience completely undermined my trust. Based on my experience, I strongly caution others against relying on the reviews or expecting professional, detail-oriented service from this shop.

    Thank you, though, for installing my new license plates — that was complementary, at least.

    Best shop in London! Could not recommend them enough. I was told that I needed all new brakes and rotors by two other local shops. I brought it into Hartman's and they advised me that that was not in fact the case and that I had 6 months left in the pads and the rotors were fine. They are very honest and I will not take my vehicle to anyone else.

    Can’t say enough about Hartmans. They go over and beyond to fix my 2002 Jimmy knowing what it means to me. They let you know if they see something that might need fixing in the future. I so appreciate the great customer service, patience and great prices.
