About The Salvation Army Thrift Store
The Salvation Army Thrift Store offers a wide range of pre-loved secondhand goods, including clothing, accessories, housewares, and electronics, making it a go-to destination for affordable options for all sizes and ages. Shoppers often enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the helpful staff, with one employee noted for her outstanding demeanor and kindness, making shopping a pleasant experience. While some customers have expressed concerns about recent pricing on certain items, like air fryers and shoes, many still find the overall prices reasonable, with t-shirts around $4 and pants about $8. Although change rooms are currently closed, exchanges are easy if items do not fit. The store encourages donations of gently used goods by offering a 20% discount on future purchases, contributing to community support and environmental sustainability. Customers have praised the great selection of items that seem almost new, and the staff's willingness to lend a hand, especially Priyanka and Linda, who have been described as having an outstanding demeanor and providing excellent customer service.
Most of the time I come here it's actually fairly busy. I mostly go for the books which are much cheaper than going to Value Village. Their pricing is still better as well for clothing, but can be all over the place sometimes and near to the price at cost in the store. Still thrift shopping is basically a hobby so you learn what's a good deal and what isn't. Staff seems to be decently helpful and kind.
I blows my mind that so many people donate to Value Village , an American based, for-profit corporation. There are so many deserving non-profit and not -for- profits that better serve the local communities. Thrift on Kent, Bibles for missions , worth a 2nd look, etc.
A lot of it is overpriced but still found some good stuff. It's way to crowded though, it's hard to see things and not knock them off the shelf with so much stuff crammed on them.
