Called for my hubby as both his ears were impacted with wax. We received great advice on how to loosen the wax and an appointment was booked quickly by the receptionist. Jennifer was not only patient but persistent in flushing out the wax build up. Now hubby's ears are clear and he can hear again! A couple of months on, I love our renovated kitchen more every day. Thumbs Up Painting & Renovating did an outstanding job from start to finish. They repainted our kitchen cupboards, taking the doors to their shop to strip and refinish them to a silky-smooth factory finish, and built a custom surround around our IKEA island cabinets, complete with added electrical outlets for more flexible workspace. They also coordinated with Blackbird Stone & Tile to put in a beautiful new countertop, backsplash and sink that really ties the whole kitchen together, and finished by installing our new appliances.
The scope went beyond the kitchen too: they painted a downstairs hallway and our entire upstairs hallway, and Sarj had the inspired idea to repaint our badly scuffed stairs in the same colour as the kitchen cabinets — a perfect solution we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves.
One aspect of the project that we are extremely happy with was the replacement of a wood panel in a fireplace surround that had been damaged by a pet. It required numerous coats of stain to match the rest of the surround and for a while, we weren’t sure it would work, but it all came together perfectly in the end.
Sarj and his team of painters, carpenters, electrician, and plumber were a pleasure to work with throughout — helpful, friendly, and genuinely great to have in our home. I’d recommend them without hesitation.

Andrew and his crew were amazing! Even after they discovered my roof had three layers of existing shingles, they handled the extra work without issue. After having had an unfortunate experience with another local waterproofing business last year - which only made my situation worse - I contacted Aquafix and Angie and Alex were able to schedule me in quick and provide me with a quote and timeframe for a crack repair, waterproof membrane along my exterior of my foundation and a sump pump install. Alex and his crew attended and did a solid job. I had a thousand questions along the way and Alex was happy to answer all of them and then some. I appreciate the work you guys did and hopefully this is our permanent solution!
