I’ve been seriously contemplating not making this review, but the more I look in the mirror the more upset I get. I have been going to Tom’s on and off since I was 16 (11 years) and I’ve always had a good experience until today. I went in for a haircut and a beard trim, admittedly it had been probably 4 months since my last cut so I everything was really long. Attached are two pictures. The first where I’m wearing a beanie was taken 2 months ago so at the time I got it cut it had 2 more months of growth than that picture. The second picture is today after asking Candy (the owner) to take 1/4inch-1/2inch off my beard and shape it up. She chopped off 2+inches and left me super uneven. At the time I couldn’t help but to just smile and leave because I’m not very confrontational, and after all it is just hair and will grow back but I’m honestly gutted. I’ve been growing my beard out for almost 2 years. To make matters worse, when she sat me up to see it for the first time she said “so I know it’s shorter than you asked for but you’re so young I just figured why hide behind an old man beard? Plus the girls like this more I promise” after we had just had a conversation about my girlfriend. Just completely unprofessional and kinda crazy to go completely against what I asked for and change something so drastic about my look without consulting me first. Probably won’t be back.
Update: took a month to grow enough out to get it fixed but Derek at Lakeside Barber shop got me fixed up and it was $15 cheaper. Highly recommend over Tom’s, where what you ask for is not what you get.

When my previous barber retired, I went to several different barbers until I found Candy at Tom’s OKC Shop. In addition to the great haircuts, she is always friendly and I enjoy talking to her. I’ve been going for several years now and have never had a bad haircut!

I've had multiple bad hair cutting experience since I moved to Oklahoma city. Until I came to Tom's Barber shop. The overall experience is exceptional and the barbers are very talented. Very affordable too.
