I do NOT recommend taking your pets here. Please find a better vet that will do more to care for your pet when you really need them to. They will do the bare minimum at a checkup and still charge you for every little thing while your pets’ issue is not resolved! This vet is very basic and does not do much to help your pet in need. They are okay with keeping up with vaccines and simple issues (allergies, rashes, etc.) but I do not recommend taking your pet(s) here if there could be bigger issues you are worried about. I don’t know if they could’ve prevented anything by actually listening to our concerns earlier but at the very least, my dog wouldn’t have been suffering for quite as long before her death. Dr. Rammage does not care about your pets issues just about getting your money.

My dog had diabetes but we were managing it for years and she was doing just fine beginning of 2025. She started having episodes in June 2025 and we were not able to go in for a checkup because they were full, which is understandable, but they would not even give us other options on where we could take her or what we could do to help her when she had her episodes. We assumed her diabetes was flaring up but wanted to take her in to get bloodwork and tests done. She had another episode before the day of our appointment. When we finally took her in, they did all the basic things. (weight, temp, nails) and asked about the issue. We explained and they did not feel like it was necessary to do any tests or bloodwork. We were just told that her blood sugar was probably dropping so we needed to give her a spoon of honey to raise it up again. I paid the normal bill (around $150) and we left. About a week later, she could not keep any water down and was not eating. She was laying on her side struggling to breathe and was not walking around like she always does. We ended up taking her to Neel Vet Hospital (definitely recommend) and they told us that she has multiple cancerous masses in her abdomen and that she was starting to get fluid in her lungs and chest. When we told them that we had taken her to our regular vet a week prior and told them no tests were done, they were shocked at the lack of care!!! Needless to say, we had to say goodbye to our dog of 12 years and felt so blindsided by it. I wish this vet would’ve taken her issue more seriously. That is what we count on them for. I will not be taking any other pets of mine here and do not recommend any friends/family use this vet.

Dr. Rammage has been seeing and taking care of my two dogs since 2023. He safely removed and healed my male dog from a benign tumor tethered in his rib cage. My female Meadow is fearful of everyone and everything but trusts Dr. Rammage and his staff! I am very grateful for his service as well as the techs and receptionist that are so kind and professional. Their pricing is affordable with the ultimate quality of care. I would recommend the clinic to anyone who loves their pets and spends a great deal of time caring for them.

My dog suffered the past couple years up until her death today due to Dr. Rammage not listening to our concerns. I have been going to Dr. Rammage with my family since I was a kid for my cats – and then most recently for my first and childhood dog. Previously, I have always regarded him as one of the best. I listened to his advice on everything and considered it to be paramount over my own instincts. That was my first mistake.

Dr. Rammage had told us my dog had an autoimmune disorder – while this was true, my family insisted on XRAYs or other bloodtests because this wasn't like her. She had bloating in her belly and he dismissed it to us not walking her enough – despite daily walks – only ever missing them when she was in too much pain. With us being a family on the poor end – we spent all of our grocery money on the most recent visit. My mother states she insisted on XRAYs or something else to check because this was totally unlike my dog. Today, she had to put down my childhood dog while I was at work. The veterinarian that came out immediately spotted that she had a large tumor along her belly and said that if it had been caught earlier we could've removed it and wouldn't had to put her down. My dog was 8 years old. 8 years of coming to this clinic solely and never once were our concerns fully felt to be heard. It is an absolute nightmare of an experience to know that her suffering could've been prevented if our concerns were listened to and this was caught early. It saddens me deeply to know I had trusted this clinic having come here since I was a kid and now I will never come back. If you're reading this, PLEASE think twice about the vet you choose for your loved one and trust your instincts.

Yanked my puppy across the room by pulling his leash…attached by the collar, all because the dog wouldn’t approach him when he walked in the room. When we got the puppy up onto the table, he would fling him around, like a rag dog, and not be gentle. I play rough with my dogs, so I know what they can handle, but good grief. Added to the crazy, he made us feel dumb and dismissive. Not for us.

My cat Bobby was having seizures, I was freaking out and walked into the office with my cat. The entire staff was terrific, if not, for their compassion and care, I would not have Bobby today. Thank you Penn South!

Very sad and frustrated. My dog is a twelve pound yorky and can be nervous, feisty. I had his nails cut last year no problems were reported at that time. I questioned why two of his nails were bleeding. Fast foward to this year, June. When i needed his nails cut again i called the office to set an appt. No appt. needed, just walk in. They looked up my dogs info and told me it would be $18. I took him in and he was taken to the back. I noted the assistant called for help from a colleage. When finished my dog came out to me, his nails bleeding again. I went to pay and was charged 25. When i questioned why the price difference, thats when the rudeness started. The doctor came out and stated he charged that much because my 12 pound Yorky needed 4 people to hold him down. WOW, is this for real? I took my yorky to a friend, she sat in a chair and held him in her arm with clippers in the other hand. I was there for puppy comfort. She tested one nail, no problems. My friend will do it going forward. I will change vets. Maybe cutting his nails past the wick is why it was difficult for the south penn vet office. It was the second time my dog came out with bleeding nails. ☹️

My dog was going into septic shock, her regular vet was out of town, so I came here after being referred by a lady at Bella SPCA, and they wouldn't even look at my dog because they don't take walk ins and she said IF they did, they would need $3-$4k upfront for the surgery I thought she would need. I would never take my pet to someone who is more concerned with money than the care of an animal. Found another place that did the surgery needed for less than $1k. Oh, and guess what, they initially said they didn't take walk ins either, until they saw how desperately my baby needed help.
