Steel Fitness & Tan is Norman's largest gym, providing 24-hour access, free tanning, free aerobic classes, and over 35,000 square feet of space. The gym offers customized personal training, nutritional counseling, and a welcoming environment to help members achieve their fitness goals. The gym has a well-equipped kid's area that is highly appreciated by parents, with kind and caring staff who organize games and activities to make the time spent there enjoyable for children. However, the facility is not entirely open 24/7, as only a portion remains accessible overnight, which may be inconvenient for some members. Overall, Steel Fitness & Tan is a comprehensive gym that caters to a wide range of fitness needs, with a variety of equipment and amenities, although the limited availability of lockers and the partial overnight closure may be a drawback for some members.
Steel is amazing! I have been going ti this gym for decades and wont go anywhere else even though I moved out of Norman. They have more equipment than anybody. Clean facility and friendly staff. They are constantly doing drives for animals wear you can drop off food, blankets, toys, etc. And for Halloween there is a spooky spider that raises and drops when you open the door. Its just great! The group classes they offer are great as well.
Been going here off and on for over 5 years.
When I go on military orders they are great about stopping payment. Every time I come back I see new machines and improvements made.

Best experience in Norman. I’ve been working out at rival gyms for the last 5 years and was always treated like a number. The staff and environment here are refreshing. Everyday, I see them cleaning and helping others. 💪🏼 The effort is incredibly appreciated. S/O Brittan for helping me get signed up last month. She was very polite and professional. I have been very happy I made the switch.
