“My wife and I have visited 4 different gyms before landing on James White Fitness. The first place we went, the owner couldn't remember our names after being there 6+ months and that didn't sit right with me. The second place started out great but due to my child's autism and ADHD, he was spending more time being reprimanded than he was being instructed due to the militant style of the teacher. Not for us.After a single night at James White Fitness we knew this place was different. James' approach to teaching the children was playful yet disciplined, fun but safe. He creates an environment of team-building and inclusion in a sport that can often hyper-focus on the individual. My wife and I often joke that if Mister Rogers taught Jiu-Jitsu, his name would be James White. Before long, my wife and I joined my son in learning and we all started competing together and I can't stress enough how much of a life changing experience it was. The community, dare I say family, that James and Sam have created is so much more than just a gym and my entire family is better off for having experienced it.If you're just looking for jiu-jitsu lessons, there's plenty of places in the area. But if you are looking for an experience that will give you and your children friendship, discipline, community, and personal growth, you can't find a better place than James White Fitness.Believe me, we've looked.“

“Spent four years with Grand Master Cho, from 2012 to 2016 - I taught at the Norman YMCA for over ten years. Both daughters are 3rd degree black belts. My current rank is 5th degree and I've been back for 7 months - the 5 year gap was spent in Midland, Texas where I became very out of shape and over weight. I've lost 20 pounds, my flexibility and balance is much better and I've regained my black belt forms knowledge. Grand Master Cho takes a special interest in the kids class, I can attest to this because we discuss them all every Tuesday and Thursday - he cares. These classes are not cheap, and if the student will stick with it, Taekwondo will change your life. Grand Master Cho is a Korean national treasure, trained the Vietnamese special forces, CIA, OU Football team and is well know throughout the martial arts community. To those posting negative reviews, you simply do not understand the process. Becoming a black belt is simply the first step towards true mastery of the art. After reaching 3rd degree you begin to understand forms and fighting a lot more. I learn and refine everyday - and plan to stay there until I am no longer able. I'm age 66 and Master Cho is age 75.“
