Went to ER because my doctor insisted (possible heart attack) 8:30 PM. Got a room 6 hours later 2:30 AM. Blood pressure 197 over 115. I'm not on bp medication! Didnt recieved any meds.Left in a waiting room with no information at 11PM. Saw no one. Recieved meds for bp at 2:30AM. Next day not any better poor communication, poor care
Seasoned nurse/travel nurse here. Accepted a position on 6W extension. I have never met the nurse manager. The person who is constantly filling in for her is degrading and rude to staff. Staff are talked down to during staff huddle like children who are being patronized. The scheduler is super passive aggressive and offers no help or consideration to request offs or availability. It doesn’t matter if there’s an open shift every day, he’s not going to let you move days and pass off any accountability to the unseen manager. The staff are a good group. They definitely deserve better. Idk how mercy health places no value on staff morale and in turn takes in travelers...read full review
If you're getting outpatient testing like a CT scan or a blood draw they're great - understaffed but great. But, avoid the ER at all costs. You will wait a minimum of 5 hours and that's if you're really really lucky. You'll have to sit in the waiting room with an IV and no matter how sick you are the dirtiest floor in Youngstown is your only option for getting somewhere to lay down. Honestly the staff all seemed great, they are just overworked and severely understaffed which makes me wonder why Mercy Health keeps expanding when they can't or won't staff the facilities they have now. Oh, and I was misdiagnosed even though the next day my gp said I exhibited classic symptoms.
