“After the recent winds we had here in the Lima area, I noticed a few shingles that looked out of place and wanted to get someone to check it out, before it turned into a bigger and costly issue. I reached out to Ohio Roof Masters and Sal got back to me right away.! He came out to my property quickly, took a look, and explained exactly what was going on without trying to upsell anything I didn’t need. He was direct, price transparent, and overall a joy to work with. Which is rare quality in today’s times.

I appreciated most just how honest and efficient he was. He walked me through everything, answered my questions, and made the whole process extremely easy to understand. Once we decided what needed to be done, he and his team handled it immediately and didn’t drag the process out.

“Van Martin did a great job on the roof. I was amazed at the workmanship. I gave it four stars out of five because on the gutter install there was a miscommunication with the person reviewing the project and the estimator. Initially, my price only included a portion of the gutter which included a wrap. Then I decided to install a new gutter around the whole house. The guy reviewing the property said it would include the wrap and gutter. I received a change order and paid the difference. Then I get a call requesting more money because the price only included the gutter and not the wrap. Meanwhile, the job is underway and majority of the gutter system is wrapped. I told the foreman that was their mistake and I should not have to pay for that. He insisted that the mistake was on my part and never included the wrap. Then why did the installers wrap most of the gutter system? In the end I told him I wasn’t going to pay anymore money. So, I have a small portion that did not get wrapped. Overall, Van Martin did a great job. I am happy with my new roof. The only thing I am not totally satisfied with is that small portion of gutter that did not get wrapped. BTW, I was also impressed with the gutter installers. They kept me informed as they worked.“

EDIT: We decided to have Schaefer and Co. come out to fix the roof. They were right on time and spent maybe 30min discussing the issue with me and were very eager to get started. They have been working for 3 days now and seem to be replacing probably ¼ of my roof. We’ll see how it goes, but so far I’m happy with the way things are going. Adjusting my rating.

NOT happy so far. We got a new roof by Schaefer in 2021 because of leaks and we have had 3 leaks so far since our new roof. We just now discovered our 3rd. We're going to get a 3rd party inspection done and then possibly explore legal options. They were the highest bid, but we went with them because we thought they would do a good job (from past experience)..“
