1576 Akron Peninsula Rd, Akron“We've been part of the Zahand's Martial Arts family for a little over, and I can't recommend them enough! From the moment you walk through the doors, you're welcomed into a positive, supportive, family atmosphere.
Doshi, Hanshi, Renshi, all of the Senseis, and the Senpais genuinely care about every child. They take the time to get to know not only each student by name, but their parents as well. The owners truly invest in the well-being and personal growth of every child, celebrating their accomplishments both inside and outside of the dojo. It's clear they care about building confidence, character, and lifelong relationships—not just teaching martial arts.
My daughter also chose to have her birthday party here, and it was absolutely amazing! The staff helped with setup and cleanup, making the entire experience stress-free. A dedicated Senpai kept the kids engaged with fun games and activities the whole time, and every child had an incredible time.
The Zahand family is truly one of a kind. Renshi holds a very special place in my daughter's heart, and I have to give a huge shout-out to Senpai Caleb—he is absolutely AMAZING with the kids! His patience, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with them is something special.
If you're looking for a dojo that feels like family, genuinely cares about its students, and provides an outstanding experience both on and off the mat, Zahand's Martial Arts is the place to be!“

Great vibes, great training, and surprisingly still able to walk after class. 10/10 would get kicked again.“

1220 E Tallmadge Ave, Akron“A very fine establishment to have your kids learn some basic tenants of life. Self esteem, discipline, Confidence, and Respect. All very integral parts of life. The sensie and senpai are all amazing, as well as their normal staff. So grateful to have found a place for my children to grow.“

2674 N Haven Blvd, Cuyahoga Falls“Staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable. They encourage drop ins and encourage their students to drop into other gyms as well. You'd be hard pressed to find another gym with the availability that is at top level. They make it so no matter your schedule there is a class for you. There is an actual progression structure and knowledge test for rank, while some other gyms tend to give promotion based solely off of time in service.“

739 N Main St, Akron“I had the honor and privilege to train at the American Karate Academy for over a decade. There is, in my opinion, no better and more legitimate martial arts Academy in the city, and it is one of the best in the state. Hanshi Lee Harris teaches children and adults, in all areas of the arts, from self defense to traditional karate to physical fitness. He has experience with handi-capable students (because a handicap is just another thing to be overcome) as well as attention disorders and physical therapy. I would give this school ten stars if I could, and the highest regards imaginable. If you choose to study or train at AKA, you will leave a better person after a challenging and ultimately fulfilling experience.“

727 East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron“My son started last week. I was very nervous for him to start since he is on the Autism Spectrum, I wasn’t sure if he would be comfortable in the environment, but I’m so glad we came ! The teachers, students, and other parents are nice and helpful. They handle the children with care and try to get to know them individually. I was surprised to find out it was well priced as well. If you are on the fence, give it a shot! You won’t regret it. Best decision thus far.“
