I worked directly with the owner, Eric Myers, which was one of the biggest reasons I felt comfortable choosing Kingpin. Instead of dealing primarily with a salesperson, I was able to talk directly with the person responsible for the company and the work being done. Eric took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and put my mind at ease throughout the project. Nikki Leavell, their Office Manager, was also great to work with and helped make the entire process smooth and professional.
The crew was outstanding. They arrived around 7:30 AM and worked all day until about 7:30 PM. What impressed me most wasn’t just how hard they worked, it was how meticulous they were. Our house has a complicated roof with multiple slopes, valleys, dormers, and lower roof sections, and they paid attention to the details everywhere.
One example really stood out. We have a flat roof directly above our daughter’s room, and I mentioned to Eric that I was concerned about all the pounding potentially damaging the drywall ceiling below. Eric made sure his crew cut out and installed new decking so the membrane could adhere to a fresh surface while minimizing unnecessary pounding over that room. That level of consideration meant a lot to me.
They also properly addressed our low-slope 2/12 section with ice-and-water shield and shingles rather than just treating every section of the roof the same. Those little details gave me confidence that they weren’t simply trying to get the job done quickly, they were trying to get it done right.
Before making a decision, I received five quotes from major roofing contractors throughout Northeast Ohio and Kingpin beat them all. Getting the best price possible while receiving this level of workmanship, communication, and attention to detail made the decision even better.
