Pediatrician Gawrys-Strand is great and deserves 5 stars, but the nurses here are hit or miss. Most have been amazing, but we’ve had really bad experiences with two nurses here so far. One nurse, a few months ago, kept making pretty rude and insensitive comments about how she “could never do twins” and “better you than me” and “twins would be the worst” as if she wasn’t talking about my actual children who I love dearly. A separate nurse during our most recent visit dropped one of my baby’s head (while I was holding her twin) on the edge of the metal scale! I’m still angry about this and don’t know what to do. The first impression I had of the doctor was terrible and I didn’t want to go back. Being on Medicaid, choices are very limited. I was forced to stay because I couldn’t find anywhere else accepting new patients. Now, I love the doctor. He really does care about his patients. My daughter missed an appointment without rescheduling and he told me about it so that I can get her to come in, of course, after checking to make sure it was ok to discuss her medical issues with me. Then, I unknowingly missed an appointment and he had the nurse call me to reschedule. He’s the ONLY doctor that I have ever had who seemed to actually care. I couldn't get my boys into the Patterson location but that's ok. I really liked Dr Gawry. She spent a lot of time with us. She made my boys feel comfortable which they are very shy and our nurse Stephanie was absolutely amazing. The only thing about the community health centers are they look a lil rough on the outside and look uninviting but sometimes u find a gem on the inside. I really liked the staff we had
