“Dental trauma is real. For years, I’ve avoided walking into a dental office unless I was in excruciating pain and had no other choice. The stress of it all has prevented me from scheduling dental appointments, but let me tell you why.

I know some folks are thinking, "Why not just go twice a year and avoid all the extensive work?" To that, I say—listen, I tried. But childhood trauma is a beast. As a kid, I told the dentist I could feel the drill, and he flat-out ignored me. And it didn’t just happen once. As an adult, it’s happened three more times. The last time was a few years ago, and after that, I was done. No more. That is…until February 26, 2025.

What changed? My husband. He had been singing the praises of Hoffman Dental for a while. This is my year to be completely healthy, so I took a deep breath, picked up the phone, and made the appointment. Meghan answered and immediately put me at ease. That was step one.

On the day of my visit, I pulled into the parking lot and just sat there—twelve full minutes of talking myself into going inside. "You got this, Gail. It’s going to be okay." Finally, I walked in, greeted by an amazing staff, and soon, Michele called my name. My heart was racing, but I followed her to meet Dr. Cheryl. And at that moment, through my nervous smile, I let out a whispering sigh.

The experience was different from the start. They gave me a full tour of the office before I even sat in the chair. X-rays? Normally, I gag, every single time. But this time? Not once. And get this—they gave me dark glasses and a blanket to put on. Yes, a blanket! Talk about next-level comfort.

Now, let’s be real—when the actual cleaning began, I braced myself. I could feel my body tensing up, but yet again, they exceeded my expectations. The care, the patience, the way they explained everything? Unmatched. So much so that when they recommended I see a specialist for another matter, I actually agreed. Me!

I’m sharing all of this because if you’ve ever had a traumatic dental experience and it’s kept you from taking care of your teeth, I get it. I really do. But if you’re in Central Ohio—or honestly, anywhere in the U.S. or overseas—it is worth making the trip to see the team at Hoffman Dental.

I’ve been to several dentists in my lifetime, and none—NONE—come close to this office, this staff, this team. I’d debate anyone who says otherwise. They are not just five stars—they are top-shelf professional, highly skilled, and truly care about their patients.

“The amount of absolutely positive things I have to say about Merion Village Dental is endless!
My experience with the entire office staff, dental staff, and doctors, is the absolute best I have ever had in my 39 years of life! My best friend, who is also a long time patient and Clear Correct patient as well, with MVD, referred me to their office, and I was able to go online and very easily scheduled my appointment, where I was able to view and learn about all the staff, and pick my doctor. The services I was looking for included everything to crown repair, cavities, gum disease and teeth straightening. They provide all of the services I was looking for! I chose Dr. Watts for my doctor and she is and has been absolutely fantastic and I love her!

If you are looking for teeth straightening services they have provided excellent services, offering Clear Correct. It has been a very seamless experience and Dr. Watt's customized my service and experience to meet a deadline, which was amazing customer service and I can not say more great things about her! She also loves bunnies and has a pet bunny so of course I already love her for that!

They offer many ways in which to pay and finance treatment, and are very straightforward about cost and scheduling.
This office truly runs like a well oiled machine, and once you walk through their beautiful flowers and plants, you will be greeted by Lynn, who is so kind and friendly and is generally baking chocolate chip cookies! When you walk in, she usually greets you with a smile, and will remember you. The lobby area has a very nice seating area, along with a table and chairs, small kitchen, and a refrigerator with water, not to mention the lovely waterfall and the gorgeous flowers, plants, and well tended garden with its very own creek! It is one of the most impressive and beautiful gardens in Columbus!!

I have had such a great experience with Dr. Watts in my Clear Correct journey, and she also did a beyond amazing job getting my teeth looking good for my sisters wedding I’m a short amount time! With her help I was able to achieve results that are the best my teeth have looked in more than a decade, and I am so grateful and appreciative of her willingness to work with me to help me get to that point so I could feel confident in myself, and my smile, on such an important day for my sister, myself and my family!

All of my services providers, in terms of dental assistants, hygienists, clear correct technicians, (pardon my ignorance in terms of correct job titles), have been so wonderful and helpful and always take good care of me and communicate! The front desk staff and Office manager are efficient, and helpful, and their messaging with appointment reminders, scheduling, and billing is convenient.
