If I could give 0 stars I would.
A while back I took my senior (14-16 year old) cat here to be euthanized because she was going downhill and was clearly in pain. I was not even allowed to hold her while they did the process and they did the first shot that puts her in a regular sleep state on the table but took her into a separate room to stop her heart. I wasn't even there for her in her final moments for whatever reason that wasn't explained to me. The veterinarian was incredibly weird and off-putting and lacked empathy.
Today my partner's brother took his dog and the rest of his family in expecting end of life care for his senior dog who can hardly stand and hasn't eaten in two days on top of an infection. Dr. Todd apparently kept speaking over everyone and wouldn't even look at the owner of the dog when he was speaking about him. Charged them $380 and deflected the idea of blood work to see if the infection caused his kidneys to go into failure, and sent him home with 3 doses of medicine. So this poor dog gets to go home and be in pain and MAYBE get better when he already can't walk or eat? Are you serious?
I just had to put my 17 year old cat down and luckily I picked the best place. Veg Er for pets in Oakley was absolutely amazing and the experience of theirs was so different from this vet that I had my other kitty put down at. They gave us so much time to say goodbye to my him and was so kind and patient. I am so glad I didn't receive the same treatment for him than I received here. I got to hold him in my lap and the vet literally got on her knees to give him the euthanasia, and explained the whole process both before and while she did it, she asked if it was okay to begin even though I had pressed the button to tell them I was ready. I really hope nobody ever had to experience what I did with my first cat loss from here. I highly recommend veg er if you ever unfortunately have to say goodbye to your baby. Do not come here for that. Please.

My pet Rocky has become a patient of Dr. Calhoun and he (Rocky) enjoys his visits and treatment by the staff. Dr. Calhoun answers all of my questions and concerns as well as making suggestions for behavior and general care.
The entire team is great. Keep up the great job!

Had a very good visit with my Golden Retriever to see Dr. Calhoun about a limp she developed suddenly…good exam, diagnosis and treatment for my pup- she is doing much better! Thank you!

Cherry Grove Animal Hospital is always good to our pets! Everyone there takes loving and thorough care of them -as if they were their own! We really appreciate all they have done for us over the 18 or so years we’ve been “patients!”

The front desk staff were welcoming, and the vet took time to explain everything clearly. Seen quickly and reasonable price.
