Has been a good firm. Jusr changed ownership, so we will see.
They did our taxes for 2018 and screwed it up so bad, we had to take it to a CPA to be fixed. They filed the initial return without us reviewing first, and it was wrong so they filed an amended return and that was still wrong! We’re still waiting for our money from the IRS, almost a year later. I can’t imagine this whole company is inept but the guy they had doing our taxes should find a different career. We won’t be back.
Charged us $760..they doubled the rate because we filed separate vs. jointly. Talked to 2 other CPAs and they advised all the info is put into the system up front, and it only takes 15 minutes max to change from filing jointly to separately...so definitely did not warrant a doubling of the rate. Last year we filed separately as well and it cost $500 less! Nothing complex about the taxes either..standard interest mortage..etc. Only difference from last year to this year were a set of stock options that were cashed that were captured in our W2s...so hardly warrants the fee tripling!
