The absolute worst customer service. We recently took ownership of a dog whose family was moving out of state and could not take their pets. We worked with Valley Save a Pet to obtain a certificate for a reduced cost spay service. When I called Eastside Dog & Cat hospital to gather information I was told that my dog would need several tests, exams, and bloodwork before the surgery could be scheduled. When I questioned if these services were mandatory or just suggested I was met with extreme opposition and rudeness. I emailed over the dogs vet records (from the previous owner) and was told they would speak with the Dr. and call me back the following day. Instead I received a call from Valley Save a Pet saying that Eastside “would not be seeing my pet” that because I asked questions about charges I was not welcome at their facility, and that I was not to contact them. We live here in Chesterland and would absolutely not go there after the way I was spoken to. If you are looking for a vet to bully you into charges and treat you disrespectfully if you ask any questions then by all means go here.

The office and work areas are very clean. The way they receive their patients, one at a time, is excellent. Very knowledgeable Dr. and staff talk to you every step of the way. Excellent people, service and care for our best buddy!

Mark Rutman and his staff are EXCELLENT! He is one of the most compassionate, loving, hands on and caring vet I have ever had the pleasure and utmost respect for. Not only is he a people person, but more importantly he has a special touch and insight for the animals he helps. My cats loved him!
Unfortunately, my cat Tacky girl was very sick this week and this morning, with "Uncle Marks" help and love, she peacefully traveled to the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge.
My thanks for loving Tacky girl to the very end. She loved you so and made this heartfelt, unselfish, hardest decision for me much easier. Thank you just doesn't seem enough. You Mark, are the best!

Absolutely the best veterinarian we have ever had! Dr. Rutman is so amazing. He truly cares about the quality of life of all animals. He has helped my 14 year old lab/Rottweiler live her best life. When my daughter's dog was extremely ill he treated her dog right away despite her not even being a patient. I am so grateful that we have Dr. Rutman. He is the best!!

The service that this hospital provides is incredible! I was visiting in town and my 6 month old pup came down with an ear infection and was in so much pain. They were able to see us even though we weren't a regular patient, and the medical care from the vet tech and Dr. Rutman made me feel so at ease, especially since this was the first ever medical issue we'd faced with our pup! They also had great measures in place to practice social distancing. And the vet techs were SO nice and kind when they received us for our multiple appointments to take care of puppy Bruno's ears. I also appreciated all of the consistent follow ups on medication instructions, healing progress, and general check-ins. They even mailed a nice personal note after the visit. I wish our local vet back at home was as great!

Our different cats have been a faithful patients of Dr. Culek since the 80's. I can't say enough about the care and concern that she, as well as the Eastside Staff, have shown our cats. I would also like to say a great "thank you" to the boarding staff at Eastside. I had to board my two cats for the first ever for about 13 days. Although I was greeted by two "sulky" cats, which would have happened even if I got someone to take care of them at my house, my cats were in excellent condition and their fur was just as soft and silky as it was when i dropped them off!!!!

This is the only place I trust taking care of my dog. A few months ago I wanted to get Dean in for a dental. Protocol is to do bloodwork to make sure everything is okay before anesthesia. I'm so thankful she did because the liver numbers were off. He is now on the right track to getting everything taken care of because of Dr. Culek's hard work & professionalism. Highly recommend Eastside Dog & Cat Hosptial overall.

I had my long-haired cat groomed and they did a really great job! My cats fur was matted and smelly beforehand and they cleaned her right up. Professional and friendly staff. I highly recommend Eastside Dog and Cat Hospital.
