Lakewood Cemetery is a once-beautiful place that has experienced decline over the years but is now improving under new management since April. The grounds are being mowed regularly, trash is being picked up, and efforts are underway to restore its peaceful and attractive environment. It is a popular location, often visited for walks, reading the names on headstones, and even picnics. Some visitors appreciate its calm atmosphere and consider it a good spot for romantic outings, though the openness to the public can sometimes disrupt the peaceful ambiance. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the cemetery may need donations to maintain its beauty. Overall, there is hope that it will once again become a beautiful place for families to honor loved ones.

When my mother passed it was back in 2011, since then they have new owners and a new system. They were not only able to help me find my mom's grave that didn't have a head stone, they sent pictures and updated everything!! I know have the option to get a head stone for my mother!! I would also like to add i was coming in from out of town so keeping in touch was very important! Thank you so much for the great experience for such a unfortunate event.
We recently visited Lakeland Cemetery hoping to locate our great-grandfather’s unmarked grave — not knowing if we’d ever find him. Thanks to the extraordinary help of two staff members, both named Dave, we not only found him, but we left with the information we needed to finally get him a proper marker so future generations can find him too.

My wife and went to visit my grandparents’ grave and place flowers. The condition of the cemetery was greatly improved. The landscaping was well tended, the bushes trimmed, and the lawn mowed and cleared of sticks and debris. We met Steve, one of the superintendents. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the cemetery, passing along lots of useful information.
