My doctors are great but the appointment system is absolutely unworkable. The two online systems they have for booking (one for current patients, one for new patients) are not up to date with each other, and are also not up to date with the actual doctors' availabilities. I wasted an entire morning looking for new doctors in the network because the call center said one of my current doctors was unavailable for months out, only to find out that they did have near-termnavailability when my actual doctor's office called me back.
Scheduling advice for returning patients: send the doctor's office a note/request via the portal for an appointment; it is much more reliable than trying to use the appointment tools or calling the call center.
For new patients: I honestly would recommend looking elsewhere. It is convenient to have all of your doctors and medical history under one system if you don't need any sort of emergency services, but if you do you will find it to be difficult to schedule emergency appointments, find a new doctor, etc.

Absolutely unacceptable. I made an appointment only after confirming over the phone that they accepted my insurance. When I showed up, they suddenly claimed they don’t take it. No apology, no accountability — just wasted my time and energy. This place clearly has no respect for patients or their schedules. If this is how they handle basic communication, I wouldn’t trust them with anything more serious. Avoid at all costs.

I been coming here for some time. to see Dr Dicaprio ,before it was Dr swamgburg but he's no longer in Westmed he moved to Florida. but nevertheless for gastrointestinal check up Dr David Dicaprio is a great person doctor, attentive, very up to date with the latest technology and is always willing to help. I recommend them and westmed you have everything here, blood work xray, etc. the inky issue to get thru the office to speak to someone is hard you either email. or leave several messages to get to you. that my only issue.

The way Westmed works is ridiculous this isn’t a passport or order we’re trying to make this is people’s health. Not being able to get in touch with a doctor directly or waiting just for an appointment for lab work. It’s ridiculous can’t wait to try to change my doctor. I’ve heard from so many people the same complaints.

The staff and physicians are wonderful, right down to the valet parking attendants. However, Summit Health's take over of Westmed has been a disaster for patients. At one time, it was easy to do something as simple as make an appointment. However, Summit has made the process so difficult and convoluted that I have switched to other health networks. I had my last physical in November 2023 and my doctor ordered a mammogram. It was canceled three times with the first available appointment being October of 2024, nearly a year after the initial visit. I was able to get an appointment at Lenox Hill Radiology within a week and could have been seen the same day if I had the time. Summit took a once great organization and destroyed it.

Went to see neurologist, recommended by Primary. Last Friday. Somewhere within 1/2 hour leaving doctor's office to the lab they lost all my paperwork... Maybe wait there for an hour while waiting for blood work... Again they couldn't contact the doctor or anybody else... Told me to come back Monday it will all be straightened out and they apologized... Went today again almost 2 hours after being told everything is okay... Nobody could find paperwork.. Dr left again nobody knew what to do waste of my time for 2 days... Missing work worried about this.. in my condition.. just to see that the doctor could care less...
