Bliss Hair Salon

The salon advertises blowouts for $29, but I was charged $50. Very misleading pricing. Disappointing experience.

Terrible experience for both me and my daughter. We had appointments for wash and blowouts—service was unprofessional from start to finish. The stylist burned my scalp, ripped out strands of hair, and sprayed hairspray in my eye. She spent my entire blowout loudly chatting with a man showing her photos on his phone. My daughter’s hair was left stiff and sticky like ballroom hair from overuse of product. We were charged $45 and $55 (totaling over $132 which included a CC tax) despite the “$29 blowout” sign in the window. Poor quality, chaotic environment, and Manhattan prices for ghetto-level service. Also, the bathroom & back room REEKED of cigarettes.

I’m honestly torn writing this review because I’ve had good experiences at this salon in the past, especially with Mary, who usually does my cuts, treatments, and blowouts. She’s always professional, thorough, and makes me feel comfortable. Unfortunately, she was away during my recent visit, so I decided to book with her coworker Angie, and it didn’t go well.

The haircut felt extremely rushed—done in about 15 minutes. After the blowout, my hair was left frizzy and not at all how I expected. She handed me a mirror, quickly said, “It’s nice, right?” and before I could really process it, she disappeared. The cut was also noticeably shorter than what I had requested.

What concerned me most was her constant use of her phone throughout the appointment. She would snip once or twice, then go back to her phone. If she had a personal matter to attend to, I wish the salon had rescheduled my appointment instead of rushing through it.

I ended up paying one of the assistants and left the salon feeling disappointed and honestly on the verge of tears. At that point, nothing could be done—the cut was already made.

If you’re going to Bliss, I highly recommend Mary. She’s kind, attentive, and always explains each step of the process. She truly listens and makes you feel at ease.

Been coming here for three years. Love the salon and the service . Very welcoming and accommodating and I love Mary’s work.

Angie is amazing! Always saves me in bad hair day times!!! Also just had my nails done there for the first time, and Aruela (hope I spelled it correctly) is perfection! Haven’t been this happy about my nails in a long time! I’m so happy I found a one stop shop that does it all! Leave feeling fabulous!

Fantastic service and skilled stylists! Highly recommend!

You’d think a hair wash would be pretty basic, but when I tell you they turn it into such a luxurious experience with the gentle massage chair and an incredible head massage. The woman that cut my hair (I forgot to ask her name) was so friendly and cut my hair to perfection. It looked exactly like I wanted. And the prices are amazing! 10/10, recommend.
